Russia’s army has attacked a maternity ward in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing an infant child, says Oleksandr Starukh, the local governor.
“Grief is in our hearts. A baby who just came into this world is dead. Rescuers are working on the scene,” he wrote.

The shelling of Zaporizhzhia killed a local resident on 19 November and left 123 apartment blocks with no heating.
At least nine people were killed following a Russian missile hitting a residential building in the Vilniansk district of the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine a week ago.
