Moscow-installed official: fierce fighting near Snihurivka, north of Ukraine’s Kherson

The Ukrainian army has broken through the Russian ranks north of Kherson, heavy fighting ensued near Snihurivka, head of the Kherson region occupation “authorities” Kirill Stremousov reports.

“Ukrainian Nazis managed to gain a foothold in the north outskirts of Snihurivka, along the rail tracks. The village is currently embroiled in fighting. Aviation, artillery, and hardware is targeting the enemy now,” he noted.

Kyiv is yet to issue an official comment on the situation in Snihurivka.

In mid-October, Stremousov said that “a battle for Kherson will commence very soon” and told civilians to leave the potential battleground area.

On 19 October, the Kherson region’s occupation authorities launched a mission to evacuate Kherson residents to the other side of the Dnipro River. “Our troops will likely retreat to the left bank of the Kherson region. Those who did not manage to escape Kherson should as quickly as possible get out of the city to the left bank,” Stremousov said in November.

On 8 November, the occupation authorities ended the evacuation mission.
