It is reported that Abubakirov was handed a draft notice directly at his workplace on 25 October. Employees of the draft office gave him two hours to pack, then he and other draftees were put on a bus towards the military training location.

Akbuzat has also published the written request from the doctor’s colleagues, asking to cancel his mobilisation order.

“A doctor-neurosurgeon who performs the most difficult surgeries is currently learning how to throw grenades and shoot from a rifle. According to the ‘doctor appointment’ website data, there is only one neurosurgeon for adults remaining in Sterlitamak, while there’s no children's neurosurgeon,” Akbuzat notes.

Earlier today, Russia’s General Staff of the Armed Forces sent out instructions to the commanders of military districts and the commander of the North Fleet to report the completion of “partial mobilisation” activities before 1 November.

“All activities related to drafting citizens in reserve for military service by military commissariats together with regional executive bodies have been terminated,” the statement reads.

However, an official presidential decree about the end of mobilisation has not yet been announced.
