A military jet, allegedly a Su-30, has crashed into a 2-storey residential building in Russia’s Irkutsk, Igor Kobzev, the local governor, confirms.
“As per preliminary data, a Su plane crashed into a 2-storey building in Irkutsk. I am headed there, all units are at the scene already. No data of victims as of yet,” he wrote.
Russia's Emergency Ministry has confirmed that a fighter Su-30 plane is the jet in question. It crashed during a test flight, the agency says. The agency also confirms that both pilots lost their lives. No civilians were hurt, Kobzev says; the only victims are the two pilots.
Videos and photos of the incident are being shared on social media.
112 is publishing footage presumably of the plane's debris.
