Putin visits draftee training ground in Russia’s Ryazan region

Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited one of the Ryazan region grounds where mobilised men are receiving training before being deployed to Ukraine, Russia’s state news agency TASS reports.

During the visit, Putin checked the combat coordination units and the preparedness of soldiers to complete tasks within the framework of the “special military operation”.

“Putin inspected the practical classes on tactical, firearms, engineering, and medical training. In particular, the air assault track overcoming as part of a platoon and practice of methods of fighting armoured vehicles of a simulated enemy in close combat were demonstrated,” the Kremlin’s press release states.

Furthermore, the president visited the multifunctional shooting complex and used a SVD marksman rifle himself.

Russia’s Minister of Defence Sergei Shoigu reported to Putin on how the training of the draftees is going.

On 14 October, Putin announced that the “partial” mobilisation would come to an end within two weeks. According to him, 223,000 people had already been drafted under the “partial mobilisation” out of the planned 300,000.

On the same day, residents of Moscow and Saint Petersburg started reporting police “raids” on men due to mobilisation. Russia’s Federation Council called the “raids” illegal.
