The local officials report explosions in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zhytomyr and other Ukraine’s cities.
The critical power infrastructure was hit twice in Dnipro, Kyrylo Tymoshenko of Zelensky’s administration says. “There is significant damage, more details to follow, the emergency service is working there,” he said.
Valentyn Reznichenko, the local governor, has confirmed two missile strikes by Russia upon the power infrastructure of Dnipro. “There’s a fire and some serious damage. Several districts of the city have no power supply as of now, as well as Synelnykove and Vasylkivka. A hydraulic power plant was hit, too, the eastern bank part of the city has water supply issues,’ he said.
A power facility was also attacked in Zhytomyr, Tymoshenko says. The hit left the city with no power and water supply, the local mayor says. There are plumes of smoke over the city.
The Kyiv region, including the capital itself, was also attacked; the local governor confirms. A critical infrastructure facility was damaged in Kyiv, says Vitali Klitschko, the local mayor. According to Tymoshenko’s preliminary information, three missiles hit a power facility in the eastern bank part of the city.
Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, says his city is also under attack. “We are being attacked, two series of explosions within five minutes. Early reports say an industrial enterprise was hit,” he said. The Kharkiv metro has reported suspending operation.
An air raid alert was heard in the regions of Kyiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Poltava, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and the city of Kyiv itself.
The mayor of Kryvyi Rih reported explosions in his city, too. Vitali Kim, the Mykolaiv region governor, says the city of Mykolaiv was targeted by Russia’s S-300 missiles, a two-storey building was hit and a man was killed.
Oleksandr Starukh, the governor of the Zaporizhzhia region, says Russia attacked the city of Zaporizhzhia with a missile and a kamikaze drone; an infrastructure facility and a warehouse were hit, no casualties reported.
Russia attacked Ukraine’s Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Oedsa, Lviv, Sumy, Kryvyi Rih, Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil on 10 October, killing 19 and injuring 105.
Among the locations hit were an office building, a park, a children’s playground, a music hall, and several museums. Vladimir Putin said “high precision weapons were used against power and communication facilities, as well as military agencies.”
