Woman from Vietnam receives draft notice in Moscow; she does not work in medical or military fields

Citizen of Vietnam Nguyễn Vũ Hoàng Anh, born in 1998, has been handed a draft notice in Moscow, the woman herself tells Telegram channel Ostorozhno Moskva.

Two years ago, the woman received Russian citizenship. She has never worked in medical or military fields, she is currently an analyst for the Lamoda online retailer.

On 11 October, two men in civilian clothes served her with a draft notice at her place of residence.

“I assume that they give out draft notices to everyone [they can find] in accordance with their registered address, and my gender isn’t clear from my name,” Nguyễn commented.

After receiving the document, the woman visited a military commissariat to get an explanation. There, she was offered to add her name to the list and leave her phone number for a future clarification.

On 8 October, a draft notice was given to a Moscow resident with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) Oleg Vasilyev, who uses a wheelchair to get around.

Previously, a military commissariat in Moscow gave a draft notice to a 21-year-old man with disabilities, while a military commissariat in Sakhalin — to a 40-year-old man diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and a spinal injury.
