EU slaps sanctions against Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin and singer Oleg Gazmanov

The EU has published a list of individuals targeted within the eighth sanctions package against Russia, the Official Journal of the European Union says.

There are 30 individuals and 7 legal entities on the list. The list includes: philosopher Alexander Dugin, head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova, singers Yulia Chicherina, Nikolay Rastorguyev, Oleg Gazmanov and others.

Earlier today, the EU approved the eighth package of sanctions against Russia, which includes an oil price cap. The EU also introduced export restrictions which are aimed to deprive the Russian military and industrial complex of key components and technologies. There is also a ban on the export of coal, specific electronic components found in Russian weapons, technical items used in the aviation sector, certain chemical compounds, and firearms.

Russian citizens will also be banned from having a crypto wallet regardless of the sum (previously, having a crypto wallet with a sum fewer than €10,000 was allowed).
