‘DPR’: Russia ‘partially’ lost control of Yampil, Drobysheve; Lyman ‘semi-encircled’

Denis Pushilin, the head of the “DPR”, a pro-Russian breakaway state in east Ukraine, says Russia “does not completely control Yampil and Drobysheve.”

“We have worrying news regarding Lyman; it is now semi-encircled, we still control the road to Svatove, but it’s being fired upon. We partially lost control over Yampil and Drobysheve,” Pushilin says.

Ukraine is pushing forward “using some serious forces,” he says.

A photo of a Ukrainian serviceman standing before the Yampil town hall is being shared on social media.

“Yampil is ours,” the man says. Ukraine’s General Staff has yet to comment on the matter.

Ukrainian troops have likely nearly completed the encirclement of the Russian grouping in Lyman and cut critical ground lines of communication that support Russian troops in the Drobysheve-Lyman area, the US-based Institute for the Study of War says.
