Representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk “people’s republic” (“DPR”) have stated that the territory of the “Volnovakha penal colony” in Olenivka was attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. One Ukrainian POW was killed and five were injured in the attack, the Donetsk news agency reports, citing “DPR” authorities.
“As a result of the shelling, a Ukrainian prisoner of war was killed and five more POWs were injured. They received the necessary medical aid. No one was injured among the personnel of the Volnovakha penitentiary,” the “DPR ministry of justice” said in a statement.
“DPR” officials report that at 10:20 a.m., three missiles were launched from the Uragan BM-27 multiple rocket launcher. Head of the “DPR” Denis Pushilin told Russia’s Channel One that it was a planned attack that aimed to “eliminate the representatives of the Azov battalion who started giving statements”.
