The team of TJournal, a Russian media outlet, has announced in a statement published on its website that the project will shut down starting 10 September.
“The project will come to an end on 10 September. We will shut down all technical infrastructure that covers the bulk of our spendings. The website will have a message that links to an archive of our team’s articles and the best stories published by our users in the form of simple HTML pages,” the media outlet’s team says.
TJournal stated that the project had to be shut down due to the lack of funding following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Russia’s censorship agency Roskomnadzor blocked access to the TJournal website back in March. The block covered the website itself and all its domains and subdomains.
