Russian band Anacondaz has postponed its tour until next year due to pressure from the authorities, the band announced on its Telegram channel.
“Due to pressure from the authorities on concert venues and organisers, we are forced to announce that all our shows planned for 2022 in Russia will be postponed. The tickets will remain valid, you don’t need to exchange them,” the musicians stated.
The band added that it will sue the authorities for disrupting the concerts in Yekaterinburg and Perm. They will be aided by the Agora human rights group.
In early July, Fontanka news outlet published a list of “banned musicians”. It includes those who left Russia or spoke out against the war. Anacondaz were on this list as well.
In July, an Anacondaz concert was cancelled in Yekaterinburg at the request of the police. A week earlier, the police and the ministry of culture sent a letter to the organisers refusing to approve the event. The police also disrupted the band’s concert in Perm.
