The death toll following a missile strike on a five storey residential building in the city of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region, is now up to 18 people, reported the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

“As of 10:00 am, 18 victims have been identified and removed from the rubble, eight people have been rescued,” said the Donetsk region Emergency Service in a statement.
Earlier today, it had reported that 22 people, including a 9-year-old boy, could still be, according to the preliminary data, under the rubble.
The rescue operation is ongoing.

Yesterday, the initial number of victims of the missile strike on the residential building was reported by Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration. He said that there had been at least 34 people still under the rubble and two entrances to the building had been completely destroyed.
Today, it was reported that a missile had hit a six storey residential building in Kharkiv.
“Following the explosion, an entrance to the building has been completely destroyed. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine rescuers saved a 86-year-old woman that lived in a flat on the second floor. Fortunately, no one was killed or injured,” said the Kharkiv region Emergency Service.
