Seven civilians killed in missile strikes on Ukraine’s Dnipro, Mykolaiv and Sumy region, local officials report

Two civilians were killed in a missile strike on a service station in Ukraine’s Dnipro, regional governor Valentyn Reznichenko reported.

“These people were at the centre of the explosion. They weren’t in the military, they had no weapons. It was a civilian enterprise with civilian employees,” he said. Experts discovered fragments of a Kalibr missile near the attack site, Reznichenko added.

According to local officials, two people were killed and three were injured in missile strikes on the Sumy region over the past day. “There were airstrikes: Russians launched about 20 missiles from helicopters that did not cross the state border,” head of the Sumy region Dmytro Zhyvytskyi stated.

On the morning of 29 June, explosions were heard in Mykolaiv. Mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Senkevych reported that a Russian missile had hit a residential apartment building. Three people were killed and five were injured as a result of the attack, head of the Mykolaiv regional administration Vitaly Kim stated.

Explosions were also heard overnight in Kharkiv. A fire was reported in the city following one of the blasts.

Earlier, local officials reported that at least 18 people had been killed in a missile strike on the Amstor shopping centre in Kremenchuk. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, 59 people sought medical attention following the strike, 25 were hospitalised, and 36 are considered missing.

Kremenchuk Mayor Vitalii Maletskyi declared a three-day mourning period to honour the people killed in the strike.
