Seven killed in shelling of Ukraine’s Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk and Mykolaiv

Four people were killed in the attacks on Ukraine’s Lysychansk, governor of the Luhansk region Serhiy Gaidai stated.

“A missile attack on the recreation centre where Lysychansk residents were taking cover killed three people. Seven people were hospitalised with injuries of varying degrees of severity. One local resident was killed on the street during shelling,” Gaidai reports.

He added that a mother and her son had been killed in shelling of Sievierodonetsk. A local sanatorium in Lysychansk, where civilians may have been hiding, was destroyed in an air strike, the governor stated.

Head of the Mykolaiv regional administration Vitaliy Kim reported that four residential buildings and one infrastructure facility were damaged in a missile strike that took place this morning in Mykolaiv.

“As of now, one person has been killed and six were injured, including one child. Rescue works are underway,” he stated.

According to the UN, since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, at least 4,481 civilians have been killed, and at least 5,565 have been injured. There are 1,739 men, 1,159 women, 119 girls and 125 boys among those killed. The sex of 40 deceased children and 1,299 adults could not be determined, the UN Human Rights Office reported.
