Four killed in Sievierodonetsk shelling

Four people were killed in today’s Russian shelling of Sievierodonetsk in Ukraine, says Serhiy Haidai, the local governor.

“The dead bodies of two men and one woman were found by the police at the scene. One more woman was heavily injured and died in hospital,” Haidai said.

The deceased used to live in the same apartment block. A total of six residential buildings were damaged. It is challenging for the police to reach the locations on time, the number of victims is an approximate one.

“We learned after two days that the enemy had shelled a boarding school in Hirne. We also receive reports that residential buildings suffer damage in Popasna and Rubizhne every now and then,” Haidai said.

No less than 12 people were killed by the shelling in Sievierodonetsk on 19 May, more than 40 people were injured. “They shell residential areas deliberately,” said Haidai.
