Zukhra Alibekova, a high school senior from Russia’s Dagestan, has shot an apology video after saying “No to war! Freedom to Ukraine! Putin is a bastard!” during the Last Bell, a ceremony celebrating the last day of classes. The video was published by the Dagestanskie iZvestia Telegram channel.
The student says in the video that she regrets what she has done. Alibekova added that she “just wanted attention.”
Kavkaz.Realii news outlet reports, citing a source in the local government, that head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov personally called the mayor of Izberbash, where the girl is from, asking him to investigate the incident. ZAmirnyiMir Telegram channel informs that administrative charges were filed against the student and her mother. This information is unconfirmed.
A law enforcement source told Kavkaz.Realii that “administrative cases have been opened so far,” without specifying the nature of the charges. A source in the region’s ministry of education told the news outlet that they had been informed of the incident, and that they are currently examining the situation.
