08:30, 24.09.2023

An administrative building was damaged in a drone strike in the southern Russian city of Kursk, local governor Roman Starovoyt reported on Sunday.

The roof of the building was slightly damaged, the governor said, adding that there had been no reported injuries.

Update

12:15 GMT+3 The building that was hit by the drone is the regional FSB headquarters, independent Russian news outlet Agentstvo reported later on Sunday, geolocating the available footage. This was also confirmed by locals on social media and a source in Ukraine’s military intelligence, cited by news outlet RBC Ukraine.

14:40 Locals have reported another explosion in Kursk: a loud bang was followed by a plume of smoke in the city. The local authorities have denied taking down the alleged second drone.

A local Telegram channel reported on Sunday that a loud explosion had been heard in different locations across the city.

The city hall building in Donetsk, the capital of the Russian-occupied Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, was damaged in a missile strike on 18 September.
