Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin officially confirmed dead

The Russian Investigative Committee has identified all people who died in a recent plane crash in Russia’s Tver region, the agency reported via Telegram on Sunday.

The committee announced that genetic tests had revealed identities of all 10 people who were on board the flight. They correspond to the list of passengers published earlier by the Russian aviation authorities.

The Investigative Committee, therefore, confirmed that Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozgin, group commander Dmitry Utkin, Wagner chief of security Valery Chekalov, and three more mercenaries had died.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin offered comments on the “preliminary” reports about the paramilitary group leader’s death. He described Prigozhin as a “talented man with a difficult fate” who had made “serious mistakes in his life” but achieved the “needed results”.
