Russian strike on Ukraine’s Sumy kills one, injures 17

One person was killed and a further 17 were injured in a Russian missile strike on an educational establishment in the Ukrainian city of Sumy late Saturday evening, the Ukrainian police reported.

“All night, rescuers were working in the aftermath of the enemy’s missile strike. A 4-storey building was significantly damaged. At 03:04 am on 30 July, the fire, which had covered a significant area, was finally put out. The work continues,” the Ukrainian Interior Ministry wrote.

Moreover, the local administration reported that the Russian army shelled a total of 12 localities in the Sumy district overnight. From what is known so far, these attacks did not lead to any casualties or significant damage.

Earlier this July, Russian forces attacked the centre of Sumy with drones, killing three people and injuring 21.
