Adam Delimkhanov, a member of Russia’s State Duma, “has been wounded but is alive”, Zvezda TV channel quotes the upper house of the Russian parliament.
Telegram channels reported Delimkhanov dead earlier. Political scientist Kyrylo Sazonov was among the first to share this news. He claimed that Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces were behind the assassination.
“Delimkhanov, Kadyrov’s right hand man in Prymorsk, has been [murdered]. The ‘Bandar-log’ unit alongside the Horizon group. Other Kadyrov’s associates [have also been killed], same as around 200 troops,” Sazonov wrote.
He also noted that 12 helicopters arrived at the scene “to haul away the bodies secretly and swiftly”.
Chechnya’s governor Ramzan Kadyrov stated that Delimkhanov was out of touch with him.
“I ask Ukrainian intelligence to provide information on exactly what place and what positions were hit, so that I can still find my dear BROTHER. I promise a generous reward and I ask you to help,” he wrote.
Dmitry Kuznetsov, another Russian MP, has claimed that Vyacheslav Volodin, the State Duma’s speaker, talked with Delimkhanov “who is alive and well”. Volodin has yet to comment on the matter.
