Head of Crimea’s Sevastopol reports downed drone near Balaklava power plant

Russian air defence systems intercepted a drone near the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant in Crimea’s Sevastopol early in the morning, city Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev reported in his Telegram channel.

“The thermal power plant has not been damaged, it is working as normal,” he added. According to him, the plant was attacked by Ukraine.

Razvozhaev also noted that a fire broke out in a small anti-submarine ship docked in Streletskaya Bay at night. According to the official, the vessel was decommissioned and was to be scrapped soon. No people were injured, the governor added. According to him, the fire started due to a plug catching fire.

On 16 February, Razvozhaev said that two drones were downed off the coast of Crimea in the Black Sea. The head of Sevastopol last reported a drone attack on the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant in late October 2022.
