“This incident does not affect the power supply of Sevastopol and the peninsula. There is no threat to power supply,” the governor says.

On 19 October, Russian President Vladimir Putin introduced a “medium level of response” on the territories of Crimea, Sevastopol, as well as Russia’s Krasnodar, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, and Rostov regions. “Resettlement” of residents will be conducted in the aforementioned regions, and freedom of movement will be restricted on these territories, the presidential order reads.

On the same day, Putin imposed martial law on the occupied territories of Ukraine.

On 15 October, Razvozhayev reported that air defence systems were operational near Sevastopol as part of the “training exercises”. Local Telegram channels published videos showing traces of air defence weapons in the sky. Loud explosions were also reported. On the same day, eyewitnesses stated that air defence systems were operational in Russia’s Belgorod region.
