A sudden combat readiness inspection of Belarus’ Armed Forces has begun in the country under the leadership of the State Secretariat of the Security Council, the press service of Belarus’ Ministry of Defence reports.

The inspection is being conducted by order of Alyaksandar Lukashenka.

“[The inspection] will be manifold, the troops are to depart for the appointed districts as soon as possible, carry out their engineering equipment, organise security and defence, as well as build bridge crossings over rivers Nemunas and Berezina,” the statement reads.

There are plans to temporarily limit vehicle movement on some public roads and areas of land.

On 7-8 December, there was a “check of the state terrorism response system” conducted in Belarus.
