From 21 September to 11 November, 2,820 Russian nationals received temporary registration in Armenia, this number is almost four times higher than that of last year, Russia’s media outlet RBC reports, citing a response from Armenia’s police press service.
In the same period of 2021, 722 Russian citizens received temporary registration in the country.
According to RBC, the number of applications for a residence permit in Armenia from Russian citizens has increased by 2.5 times: 708 people submitted documents for a residence permit in the last 90 days, compared to 277 in the same period of 2021. Although one person so far has been denied, 273 people have managed to receive a residence permit; in 2021, 257 Russian nationals received an Armenian residence permit (back then, one person was not granted the permit as well).
Russian citizens are allowed to be present in Armenia for no more than 180 days a year. If a Russian citizen wants to stay in the country for longer than 30 days, they need to get a temporary registration.
