Russia has taken several thousand children out of Ukraine’s Kherson region, currently occupied by Russian forces, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said.
“Currently, there is constant shelling there, it is not safe. So, we offered kids, first and foremost [to leave the region — editor’s note]. Several thousand children are already in other Russian regions, they are staying at resorts and children’s camps,” the deputy PM said.
About 500 people a day are leaving the region, he added.
Yesterday, the administration of Russia-occupied Kherson region “strongly recommended” its residents to come to Russia for a “humanitarian recreation and wellness trip”.
