The bodies of two more civilians were found in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region, local police inform.
“Investigators and forensic experts of the Kyiv regional police exhumed the bodies of two residents of the Buzovaya settlement. The civilians were killed by occupants during the hostilities,” the police stated.
According to the regional law enforcement, the bodies belong to a senior woman and her 27-year-old grandson. The investigators determined that the woman had been killed in late February during shelling while she was in the yard of her house. Her grandson was killed in early March. Their relatives buried them at a local cemetery.
The Kyiv regional police found a total of 1,290 bodies of civilians killed since the start of the war.
Regional police chief Andriy Nebytov earlier stated that the majority of civilians were shot with automatic weapons.
The Human Rights Watch (HRW) recorded 22 apparent cases of execution in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions carried out during the Russian occupation. Besides, the organisation recorded six enforced disappearances, nine killings of civilians, and seven cases of torture.
