No less than 12 people were killed in today’s shelling of Sievierodonetsk in the Luhansk region of Ukraine, more than 40 people were injured, says Serhiy Haidai, the local governor.
The Russian army has chaotically shelled the town using heavy weaponry. “They have shelled residential areas deliberately,” said Haidai, adding that a more precise report will follow.
10 people were killed and 3 were injured in the Luhansk region on 17 May, Haidai reported earlier. A construction materials store and four apartment blocks were destroyed in Sievierodonetsk, another four residential buildings were destroyed in Rubizhne and two more in Lysychansk; the Sievierodonetsk city hospital was damaged.
