Officers of Russia’s National Guard have seized the office of Kherson Internet provider Status in an attempt to force its employees to connect to the Crimean network, the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine reports.
According to the service, Russian troops are threatening to seize all company equipment. “Such actions are a blatant violation of international law,” the Ukrainian communications agency said, adding that all these cases will be used as evidence in cases against Russia. Russia has not commented on this information yet.
Kherson has been under de facto Russian occupation since March 2. Russian TV channels are transmitted in the region. Local Internet provider SkyNET earlier switched to Russia’s Rostelecom network. On April 26, the Russian Defence Ministry reported that Kyiv had lost control of the entire Kherson Region.
