Million people left with no water supply in Luhansk region after water utility shelling

About a million people are now deprived of water supply, including the temporarily occupied areas, after a water treatment plant was shelled by the Russian army in the Luhansk region, says Serhiy Haidai, the local governor.

“A substation building and an open switchgear with transformers were damaged at one of the filtering stations. Most likely, the substation equipment was also damaged,” he wrote.

15 settlements are completely cut off from water supply for the time being. It will only be possible to repair the facilities when the warfare is over, noted Haidai.

A Russian airstrike hit a school in Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, earlier today, where 90 people found shelter. About 30 people were rescued from the rubble, says Serhiy Haidai, however, the remaining 60 are most likely to be dead.
