Russian defence ministry confirms missile strike on Odesa airport

Russia used high-precision missiles to strike an airfield in Odesa, Russian Defence Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said during Sunday’s briefing.

“High-precision Oniks missiles destroyed a hangar at a military airfield in the area of Odessa that was storing weapons and ammunition arriving from the US and the European states. An airstrip was also destroyed,” the defence ministry said.

Yesterday, Odesa regional governor Maksym Marchenko stated that an Oniks missile had hit the airport. According to him, it was launched from the Bastion coastal defence missile system in Crimea.

No casualties or injuries were reported following the strike.

Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Synehubov earlier informed of three attacks in the region in the past 24 hours, adding that one person was injured.
