French fashion house Dior is planning to reopen two of its stores in Moscow by 2028, Russian business daily Kommersant reported on Friday, citing financial statements published by the brand’s Russian legal entity.

Dior, which announced that it would be withdrawing from the Russian market in March 2022 following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, plans to reopen two flagship stores in the Russian capital, one in the highly-exclusive Stoleshnikov Lane and the other in GUM, Moscow’s iconic shopping arcade on Red Square.

The company noted its intention to reopen the boutiques in an explanatory note included in a financial statement, according to Kommersant. Neither Dior’s French parent company LVMH, nor the owners of either premises responded to enquiries from journalists about the plans.

Though Dior stated its intention to exit the Russian market in early 2022, the brand was still operating nine Russian outlets in 2023, eight of which were located in the capital and one in St. Petersburg. By 2024, however, just four outlets remained, though Dior also renewed its trademark registration in the Russian Federation until 2034.

In 2021, the company's revenue in Russia amounted to 8.5 billion rubles (€92.6 million), and in 2025, only 592,000 rubles (€6,450). The company's net loss last year amounted to 120 million rubles (€1.3 million), according to Kommersant.
