US President Donald Trump called Vladimir Putin “absolutely crazy” in a Truth Social post on Monday, as Russia launched a fresh massive drone and missile attack on Ukrainian regions overnight.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that 355 drones and 9 missiles were launched at the country overnight in Russian attacks, the largest drone attack of the war so far.

The attacks came after a night in which at least 12 people were killed and 70 injured in Russian attacks across the country, and after Saturday’s combined drone and missile attack in which Russia launched 14 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 250 Iranian-made Shahed drones at several cities across Ukraine.

“I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!” Trump wrote, adding that missiles and drones were being launched at Ukrainian cities “for no reason whatsoever”.

“I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right,” Trump continued.

Trump also criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying he was “doing his Country no favors by talking the way he does. Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop.”

Zelensky had previously condemned “the silence of America and silence of others around the world” in an X post following the Sunday attack, stressing that the war could not end “without truly strong pressure on Russian leadership”.
