Ukrainian drones attacked the city of Shuya in Russia’s central Ivanovo region for the second night running, the regional authorities reported on Thursday.
According to Telegram news channel Astra, locals reported hearing explosions at around 2:50am, though locals complained that the air-raid siren only sounded 20 to 30 minutes later, after a fourth or even fifth explosion had been heard, Telegram channel Mestnye Ivanovo said, quoting an eye-witness.
The attack was successfully repelled, and no one was injured, the authorities said, while the apparent target of the attack, the base of the 112th Guards Missile Brigade, does not appear to have sustained any damage, though Astra posted video footage it said showed the moment of the attack, and a fire it caused less than 200 metres from the military base.

Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, said that the 112th Guards Missile Brigade was responsible for a ballistic missile strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy on Sunday in which 35 people were killed.
Telegram channel VCHK-OGPU said Ukrainian drones had launched missiles at the brigade’s hangars, though there has been no confirmation of an attack on the military facility.
The Russian Defence Ministry reported on Thursday that its air defence systems shot down 71 Ukrainian drones over six Russian regions overnight, but did not mention the Ivanovo region. The ministry did report that it had taken out seven Ukrainian drones over the Ivanovo region in the early hours of Wednesday, when Ukrainian drones also attacked Shuya, injuring two, according to the regional authorities.
