Two killed in drone attack on village in Belgorod region

Two people were killed and one was seriously injured as three kamikaze drones attacked the village of Rozhdestvenka on Friday, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Telegram.

Gladkov said that an ambulance team would take the injured man to hospital as soon as the situation allowed, adding that an excavator and a mechanical arm had been damaged in the attack.

Russia’s Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, has been regularly subjected to shelling and drone attacks since Russia launched the full-scale invasion of its neighbour in February 2022.

Seven people were killed and 20 were injured in a drone strike on the city of Belgorod on 15 February.

The city suffered one of its worst attacks of the war to date on 30 December, when at least 25 people were killed and over 100 were injured. The city has come under sustained attack ever since.
