Yulia Navalnaya paid tribute to her late husband Alexey Navalny on Friday, as he was buried in Moscow without her present.

“Lyosha, thank you for 26 years of total happiness,” she wrote, “yes, even including the last three. Thank you for your love, for your constant support, for making me laugh even from prison,” Navalnaya wrote.

“I don’t know how to live without you, but I will try to make you happy for me and proud of me up there. I don’t know if I’ll succeed or not, but I’ll try.”

“We will meet again one day, I have no doubt. I have so many things to tell you, I have so many songs saved for you on my phone — stupid and funny songs, most of them actually really bad songs, to be honest, but they’re about us and I wanted you to listen to them. I wanted to watch you listen to them, laugh, and hug me.”

“I love you forever. Rest in peace,” she wrote on Instagram.

Navalny’s brother Oleg Navalny also said his farewell to his brother on Instagram.

“Rest in peace, brother, and don’t worry about anything,” he wrote.

As both Navalny’s wife and brother are in exile, neither was able to attend the funeral.
