Attack on Kherson region leaves 11 people injured

Eleven civilians have been injured in overnight shelling of the Kherson region, southern Ukraine, the Kherson region prosecutor’s office reported on Sunday.

Russia “has repeatedly struck” the city of Kherson and settlements located on the right bank of the Dnipro River, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin noted, adding that buildings, cars and gas distribution networks had been damaged.

In total, 11 people have been injured, including a 27-year-old woman and her nine-months-old daughter. A 33-year-old Red Cross doctor has sustained a blast trauma and concussion.

The local authorities have launched a probe into violation of laws and customs of war. Investigators said that the Russian military shelled the city of Kherson and a nearby village in the early hours of 8 October.
