Russia launched six Shahed drones and 10 cruise missiles at the southern part of the Odesa region overnight, the Ukrainian Air Force (UAF) said in a bulletin on Sunday.
All six drones were destroyed by air defence systems, the UAF said. The missiles, six of which were downed by the Ukrainian military, were launched by Tu-95MS strategic bombers flying sorties from Russia's Saratov region. A local agricultural enterprise was hit, according to the bulletin.
On Saturday, the Ukrainian Transport Ministry announced that two cargo ships had begun sailing through a temporary safe corridor to the Black Sea port of Chornomorsk, the first vessels to attempt the journey to Ukraine since Russia's withdrawal from a deal that allowed cargo ships exporting Ukrainian grain safe passage across the Black Sea.
