Three bodies found in Moskva River after underground sewers tour

Three bodies of people who attended a guided tour of Moscow’s underground sewers have been discovered in the Moskva River, RIA Novosti and Interfax report, citing relevant emergency agencies.

Two of them were teenagers, a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy. They were carried into the river near the Kremlin. Izvestia reports that the minors were on the tour with their uncle.

According to an emergency service employee, more than 20 people signed up for the tour. However, a heavy rain forecast forced most of them to abandon the plan. In total, eight people showed up on the day.

The people are now believed to have drowned due to a heavy downpour. The diving operation is still ongoing.

The 112 Telegram channel reports that 31-year-old Konstantin Filippov was the tour guide for the group. He has not been in touch with anyone since yesterday. RIA Novosti notes that a criminal case was launched.
