10-year-old girl injured in Belgorod explosion

A 10-year-old girl sustained injuries following an explosion in the southern Russian city of Belgorod on Sunday, Belgorod regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported Monday morning.

Gladkov said the girl had been walking past a building that was damaged by the explosion. Doctors found a foreign object lodged in the girl's right elbow and multiple cuts to her forearm, shin, and foot. Her condition is said to be stable.

Gladkov added that the explosion damaged five apartments, 16 cars, and one non-residential building.

The explosion, which local authorities and eyewitnesses said was likely caused by a drone attack, occurred on the city's Yesenin Street on Sunday evening.
