Construction of Bayraktar drone plant begins in Ukraine

Turkish company Baykar has launched the construction of a factory to produce Bayraktar drones in Ukraine, Ukrainian Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshyn said Monday on air.

“We are talking about production on Ukrainian soil. This is the large Bayraktar plant which was agreed upon several years ago. It is now being built <...> We have proceeded to action,” Kamyshyn announced.

Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar said earlier that the factory, which will produce Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci drones, will start operating in 2025.

Last year, Baykar said that it would never sell its drones to Russia. Soon afterwards, the company bought a plot of land in Ukraine to build a drone manufacturing plant.
