Russia’s Prosecutor’s Office to look into Mars, Inc’s alleged financing of Ukraine’s Armed Forces

The Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office has begun looking into whether the US company Mars, Incorporated has been financing Ukraine’s Armed Forces and whether it has been paying all the necessary taxes, Russia’s state news agency TASS reports, citing a law enforcement source.

Earlier, the head of the public organisation Federal Project on Security and Fight against Corruption Vitaly Borodin filed a denunciation against the company that owns such brands as Mars, Bounty, Milky Way, and Snickers. The man has asked the state organs to carry out such checks on several artists and companies.

Following the start of the full-scale of Ukraine by Russia, Mars, Incorporated announced it would halt new investments into Russia and suspend its advertising campaigns in the country.
