Russia’s National Guard to receive heavy weaponry and tanks

Russia’s National Guard will receive heavy weaponry and tanks, its director Viktor Zolotov says.

This matter was discussed with President Vladimir Putin, he adds.

Zolotov has also commented on the PMC Wagner rebellion, claiming that “the situation was instigated by the West” and matched Prigozhin’s ambitions. Zolotov stated that he was in touch with Putin during the rebellion, and referred to the work done by security agencies as “brilliant”. He said that the mercenaries managed to walk through the country this fast since the main defensive forces were concentrated around Moscow.

“We knew we would overcome. The rebels would never capture Moscow,” Zolotov stated.

Vladimir Putin addressed servicemen of the Russian military in front of the Kremlin’s Palace of the Facets earlier today. “You virtually halted a civil war by acting firmly and seamlessly,” Putin said.
