Resident of Russia’s Khabarovsk region detained over treason charges, FSB claims he donated crypto to Ukraine’s military

The FSB has reported detaining a resident of the Khabarovsk region; the agency claims the man used cryptocurrencies to donate money to the Ukrainian military. He has been charged with treason, TASS cites the FSB.

The FSB has revealed some details: the agency claims that the man used cryptocurrency to send money to a foreign charity foundation so as to purchase UAVs, thermal pointers, ammunition, and medical supplies.

He is facing a minimum sentence of 12 years in prison or even a lifelong sentence.

The FSB reported detaining a resident of Russia’s Vladivostok region on 7 June who allegedly shared information on local law enforcement and military infrastructure with Ukrainian intelligence.

Vladimir Putin signed a law on lifetime prison sentences for treason on 28 April.
