Ukraine’s army launched 611 shells on the border town of Shebekino, Belgorod region of Russia, in one day, the local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov says.
“In the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, 185 attacks were documented. The roofing of a multi-flat building, the central square, and a cultural institution were damaged,” he writes.
He adds that there were attacks on other nearby districts as well. No one was hurt, according to Gladkov.
Yesterday, 4 June, Russia’s Defence Ministry reported having repelled another attack by “saboteurs” in the Belgorod region. The ministry claimed that a “Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group” tried to cross a river close to Novaya Tavolzhanka. “An artillery strike was launched against the enemy. The enemy has been dispersed and withdrew,” the ministry wrote.
