Two people killed, 11 injured in shelling of Ukraine’s Kostyantynivka conducted by Russia

Two civilians were killed in Russia-conducted shelling of the city of Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region of Ukraine, as per Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office.

One of the victims is a 15-year-old girl. According to the information available to the office as of now, Russia’s Armed Forces shelled the city using multiple rocket launcher Smerch.

Furthermore, 11 people received injuries of varying severity, head of the Donetsk region administration Pavlo Kyrylenko says. Among the injured are two teenagers, 15 and 16; they were hospitalised.

Multi-storey residential buildings and private houses, gas stations, shops, and a pharmacy were damaged or destroyed in the attack.

The Prosecutor General’s Office has initiated a pre-trial investigation into violating the laws and customs of war.

On Friday, 12 May, according to Kyrylenko, one person was injured in the shelling of Kostyantynivka. “Russians targeted the city using Smerchs and artillery — 28 private houses, two multi-storey buildings, a shop, and two gas pipelines were damaged,” he reported yesterday.
