Woman killed, two people injured in Russian shelling of Dnipro region’s Nikopol city

The Russian army has shelled the city of Nikopol in the Dnipro region in Ukraine, killing a 72-year-old woman, head of the regional administration Serhiy Lysak reports.

“They used heavy artillery. Launched over 10 projectiles,” he wrote in a Telegram post.

According to Lysak, two local residents were wounded — they are concussed. Seven private houses and a multi-storey building were damaged, windows shattered in a college dorm building. Furthermore, three gas pipelines, one power line, 14 solar panels, outbuildings, and five cars were damaged.

Moreover, air defence shot down a Shahed drone in the Dnipro region aerial space.

On the night of 7 May, Russian troops also carried out strikes on the Mykolaiv region, using five Kh-22 missiles, head of the regional administration Vitalii Kim says. No people were hurt.

“An industrial enterprise building was damaged, an open territory was also hit,” Kim writes. Russia’s Armed Forces used Tu-22M3 strategic bombers.

In the night, Ukrainian air defence shot down a Russian reconnaissance drone in the Kyiv aerial space, head of the Kyiv military administration Serhiy Popko reports. According to initial reports, there are no casualties or damages.
