North Ossetia’s governor files complaint with prosecutor’s office amid violence against draftees video

Sergey Menyaylo, the governor of Russia’s North Ossetia, has filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office after a video of draftees being bullied and violently humiliated was posted online, the governor said on social media.

He noted that the identities of the people in the video were verified. This data has been provided to the military prosecution. No reports were made regarding any criminal procedure.

Vera Adaeva, a public figure, posted a video of a servicemember from the 46th regiment where draftees from North Ossetia serve getting beaten. In the video, two soldiers were insulting and kicking another man. One of them said he “needed a new sleeping bag”.
