Russian governor: 20 Ukrainian saboteurs attempted incursion into Russia

Governor of Russia’s Bryansk region Alexander Bogomaz has claimed that 20 members of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group attempted to storm into the region.

“A border control agency of the regional FSB office in the Bryansk region has thwarted an incursion attempt near Russia’s village of Sluchovsk, Pogarsky district, carried out by a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group of 20 members,” Bogomaz noted.

According to him, the Russian military and border control forces defeated the enemy in a gunfight.

On 2 March, the Bryansk region governor said that another Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group stormed into Russia’s village of Lyubechane. According to TASS, the saboteurs attacked two villages, Lyubechane and Sushany. Two Russian civilians were killed in the attack, two more were injured, including a child born in 2012.

The Russian Volunteer Corps, a group of Russians voluntarily fighting for Ukraine, claimed responsibility for the attack.
