Editor-in-Chief of Novaya Gazeta Europe Kirill Martynov slapped with police report in Russia for failing to mark himself as ‘foreign agent’

Kirill Martynov, Editor-in-Chief of Novaya Gazeta Europe, has been found to be in violation of Russia’s legal requirement for “foreign agents” to mark everything they publish or write in the Russian information domain with a “foreign agent” label, Mediazona reports.

The case was entered into official records on 6 April. According to the case materials available online, it will be heard by the Basmanny District Court.

The Russian Justice Ministry designated Martynov as a “foreign agent” on 2 September 2022.
